Weekly Data Update (June 3-10, 2025)

Violence across Syria stabilizes to lower levels; but Israeli strikes resume; ISIS attacks continue; UXO incidents persist; & vigilante justice leaves 26 dead.

Dear reader – given the clearly persistent trend of vigilante justice in recent months, Syria Weekly has added a new dataset (based on all preceding Syria Weekly reporting) covering all vigilante justice and targeted killings of former Assad regime operatives and associated family members and communities.

The overall level of violence across Syria remained relatively stable over the past week, with a total of 54 violent deaths confirmed, 14 (26%) of which were caused by unexploded ordinance (UXO).
