Violence reaches lowest level since Assad's fall, as vigilante justice caused nearly 80% of all deaths across Syria.
Violence across Syria over the past week dropped to its lowest level since Assad’s fall, with a total of 39 deaths recorded nationwide - 7 (18%) of which were caused by unexploded munitions (UXO). Notwithstanding a brief uptick in violence in late-April (resulting from several days of hostilities directed at, within and involving Syria’s Druze community), Syria’s violence has been on a gradual downward trend since late-March.
