Violence in Daraa - Nov 3-9, 2024

No deaths, but violence spikes around one high-profile incident

For the first time in three months, Syria Weekly recorded zero deaths in Daraa this past week, although violent incidents actually surged to a near-record level — with 28 confirmed across seven days. That overall level of violence is significantly higher than Syria Weekly’s average of 18 incidents per week, and just one below the highest recorded of 29 in one week (which occurred August 11-17 and October 13-19).
