Syria Data Update: July 15, 2026

Violence declines back to 2026 average lows; plus a 'SITREP' on ISIS & analysis on shifts in Israel's military operations in Syria.

The overall level of violence declined over the past week, with a total of 15 violent deaths recorded, 4 (27%) of which were caused by unexploded ordnance. The 11 non-UXO deaths confirmed over the 7-day reporting period represents a near halving of the rate seen the previous week and a return to close to the average low of 9 non-UXO deaths per week seen since February 1.

This appears to underline the reality that without unusual mass casualty terror attacks — such as the July 2 bombing of a cafe near Damascus’ Justice Palace that left 10 dead — Syria’s path of stabilization is at the least stable.
