SPECIAL -- Hezbollah's Syrian insurgent campaign in Syria
Exclusive details on a year-long campaign of plots -- and Syrian government interceptions.
Syria’s Interior Ministry announced earlier today (May 5) that in coordination with the General Intelligence Directorate, an expansive plot to assassinate senior government officials had been foiled. A total of 11 suspects — comprising five 2-man assassin teams and 1 overall commander - had been captured in near-simultaneous raids in the governorates of Rif Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Tartus and Latakia, with a wide array of weapons seized, including IEDs, anti-tank rockets, RPGs, sniper rifles, assault rifles, grenades and ammunition.
