Data Update (October 28-November 11)
Violence across Syria reaches record low, as vigilantism remains dominant source of deadly violence.
Violence across Syria declined to its lowest level ever recorded over the past two weeks, with a total of 47 deaths confirmed — 34 between October 28-November 4 and just 13 deaths between November 4-11.
Of those 47 deaths in two weeks, 14 (30%) were caused by unexploded ordnance (UXO), meaning that the level of deadly kinetic violence recorded — 23 between October 28-November 4 and just 10 between November 4-11 — also represented a significant decline and a record-breaking low. These are encouraging signs in the context of four months of steadily declining levels of violence across Syria, as the country's political transition consolidates.
